A window on wildlife
Givskud Zoo offers a real window on wildlife and allows you to get really close to wild animals from five continents. Many of the animals will already be familiar to you from nature broadcasts on TV, but at the zoo you can meet them face to face. Unlike on a television screen, you can see how big they really are, hear the noises they make and smell them. If we did not have zoos, many children would never see live lions, gorillas or other wild creatures. Seeing wild animals and understanding their importance in nature are preconditions for a concern about their future. If we cannot save the wild plants and animals of the world, will we be able to survive ourselves?
